Douglas aircraft, some of the finest things that ever flew!
When it comes to civil aviation I have one great favorite: the Douglas DC-3, in Europe often called the Douglas Dakota. And of course Donald Douglas ranks high in my admiration too! But there's more that came from the Douglas stable, like the military versions of the DC-3: the C-47 and the R4D, all the way to the DC-10 with its long, admittedly fairly checkered, history.
